Oh Laura, as I read this I think you definitely cannot say you didn’t try hard enough! It’s emotionally exhausting and enlightening to read. I thank God often for keeping you on this planet.
Please pray for my teen daughter so that she can recognize and get out of a very bad situation she is in, and for me, her mom, to be able to help her in the way she needs.
As a fellow cancer buddy -cheers (read F off 2023) and so glad you are where you are! Go big with that tatas and enjoy them! Cancer kicked me into menopause at 40... I am a gyn specialist and I do recommend you talk to yours about what to expect, ideas and ways to cope. This part can be fast or slow depending on your body. I also wish others would tone down the celebrations when I’m actually still in the damn forest, but cancer is a thief- don’t let it steal all your victories, take the win when you can (speaking to myself here) xo
Thankfully, I didn’t have too many people recommending alternatives when I was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer, except for my sister-in-law and niece told me they could share IG accounts of people who had gone to Mexico for treatment. Um, no thank you. I know they meant well, but no. I am also likely having my ovaries & tubes removed this year as my mom died from ovarian cancer at age 52. I no longer need any of those parts - I’m 59 & post menopausal - and it will bring me great peace of mind. I’m looking at this new year as a time to recuperate & be aware that stuff can & will happen that I never planned for!
Very good to hear from you and although slower than you would like (and all of us who are cheering you on), I'm glad that progress is forward and healing and hope remain on the agenda.
Please pray for my continued recovery from all things cancer and chemo as you remain in mine. 🙏🙏🙏💜
Please pray for the mental health of one of my children. Evaluation and intervention may be in our near future.

New to the newsletter but as a fellow cancer folk, glad to hear you can put some of it in the rear view. Also major “hear hear!” On footnote 3
